I guess I will just run through the basics.
I'm 27 years young. My girlfriend, Theresa and I have been together for over 4 years. We are raising a son together. His name is Keanu and he is 9 and a half. We live in Stow, Ohio. Not exactly a great place to be gay, but it's not the worst either. Thankfully, I have a huge support system up here which helps greatly.
I come from a very hard to explain family. There are A LOT of us. My dad was married and divorced 4 times. Kids came from every single marriage. My mom and my oldest brother are about the same age and I was an aunt before I was even born. It's actually far more complicated than it seems and it would take a novel to explain my family, our relationships and how we function. So, I won't try to explain it. I will just tell you that it works. We are a crazy bunch of people, but we are pretty fantastic. I think most anyone that has been to any "Bland Clan" gathering would attest to that.
I've created this blog in order to shed some light on topics surrounding the lesbian lifestyle and also to introduce our family. Connection alone can save a life. Too many people face hate and discrimination. When you pair that with isolation you see the why of teenage suicide. It breaks my heart on a daily basis to hear about these terrible tragedies. No one should ever feel alone. Life is too remarkable to cry it away. Putting sexuality aside, being proud of who you are is NEVER an easy task to accomplish. It is, however, something we should all strive to be.
